By signing up to Someone’s Type, submitting an application, or attending our events, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully, they keep things fair, safe and fun for everyone.
 

1. Who We Are
 

Someone’s Type runs curated, invite-only dating events for people who are over the apps and ready to meet in real life. Our events are organised using the information you provide, but we do not (and cannot) guarantee invitations, acceptance, matches, or romantic outcomes. We simply give you the room, what happens after that is up to you.
 

2. Applications & Admin Fee
 

2.1 Admin Fee
 

We now charge a non-refundable admin fee for each application.

This fee:
 

• Does not guarantee acceptance.

• Does not guarantee an invitation.

• Is a one-time admin fee to help our small team review applications.

• Is processed securely through Stripe (Stripe’s payment terms also apply).
   

We may refund this fee on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.
 

2.2 Ticket Purchases
 

Tickets to events are sold separately and are not included in the admin fee. An approved application does not guarantee ticket availability.
 

2.3 Acceptance, Revocation & Blacklisting
 

We reserve the right to:

• Accept or decline applications.
   

• Revoke acceptance at any time.
   

• Blacklist individuals based on our internal due diligence.
   

We do not discriminate against any individual on the basis of age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, disability, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, or any other characteristic protected by law. Decisions are based solely on application content, behaviour, safety and the integrity of our events.

2.4 Identity Verification
 

We reserve the right to verify your identity and age using photo identification (passport, driving licence, or other government-issued ID). Failure to provide valid ID upon request may result in refusal of entry without refund.

3. Ticketing, Transfers & Refunds

We use Eventbrite as our sole ticketing platform.
 

• All refunds (if applicable) follow Eventbrite’s refund policy for that specific event.

• If Eventbrite states no refunds, then there are no refunds.

• Refund requests must be handled through Eventbrite or by emailing hello@someonestype.co.uk
   

3.1 Ticket Transferability & Link Sharing
 

• Tickets are non-transferable unless explicitly permitted in writing.

• Ticket links must not be shared with anyone who did not receive them directly.

• Any unauthorised link sharing may result in cancellation of the ticket(s) without refund.
   

3.2 Venue Changes or Cancellations
 

Venues or event details may change under exceptional circumstances. We will always aim to notify you as soon as possible.
 

4. Who Can Attend
 

By submitting an application and/or purchasing a ticket, you confirm that:
 

• You are at least 18

• You are single

• You will behave respectfully towards all guests and staff
   

We reserve the right to refuse admission or remove any guest whose behaviour is inappropriate, offensive or abusive, no questions asked.

5. Safety, Conduct & Interactions
 

We work hard to create a respectful, inclusive, safe environment. If you feel uncomfortable during an event, please speak to a member of staff immediately.
 

However, we cannot be held responsible for:
 

• Interactions before, during or after the event

• Dates, conversations or behaviour that take place once guests leave

• Any emotional, social or physical outcomes of attending

• The truthfulness, background or intentions of other attendees
   

5.1 No Background Checks
 

We do not conduct criminal or general background checks on attendees and cannot verify the accuracy of personal information other guests provide.
 

5.2 Responsibility for Your Interactions
 

Your interactions with individuals you meet through Someone’s Type are your responsibility. Please use the same level of caution you would in any other setting.
 

5.3 Drugs & Excessive Alcohol
 

• Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited at all events.

• If you are excessively intoxicated or pose a risk to yourself or others, you may be asked to leave without refund.
   

5.4 Personal Belongings
 

We cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings at events.

Attendance is always at your own discretion and risk.
 

6. Personal Data & Privacy
 

We collect the following when you apply or sign up:
 

• Full name

• Email address

• Phone number(s)

• Date of birth

• Application information

• The photo you upload
   

How We Use Your Data
 

We use your information to:

• Review and process your application

• Curate and invite you to suitable events

• Contact you about events, updates or marketing

• Communicate via email, WhatsApp, Stripe, Eventbrite, TikTok or Instagram

• Share your photo and name in next-day match forms
   

Match Facilitation
 

If you submit a match form after an event, and there is a mutual match (either yes/yes or friend/friend), we will share your provided phone number with the matched guest so you can connect directly.
 

6.1 International Data Transfers

​

Your data may be processed or stored outside the UK due to the third-party platforms we use (including Stripe, Eventbrite, Google and Meta services). By using our services, you consent to these transfers.

We never sell your personal data. We only share it when legally required or when necessary for operational purposes.
 

7. Use of Uploaded Photos
 

By applying, you grant us permission to:
 

• Use your uploaded photo in post-event dating forms

• Store your photo as part of your application record
   

This does not grant us permission to use your photo in marketing.
 

8. Communication Preferences
 

By applying, you agree that we may contact you through:
 

• The email(s) provided

• Phone number(s) provided

• WhatsApp

• Stripe (payment-related updates)

• Eventbrite

• Instagram (if needed for communication)

• Tiktok (if needed for communication)
   

You may unsubscribe from email updates at any time by contacting hello@someonestype.co.uk
You may request full data deletion via email.
 

9. Liability
 

While we do our best to create safe, welcoming events, we are not responsible for:
 

• Any outcomes of guest interactions

• Emotional distress, disappointment or injury

• Behaviour of guests before, during or after events

• Matches or lack thereof

• Any inaccuracies in user-provided information

• Anything that occurs outside of the event setting

• Loss of property
   

By participating in our events or services, you agree not to pursue legal action for claims arising from attendance, interactions with other guests, or any matter covered in these Terms.
 

Your choices and your dates, are your own.
 

10. Changes to These Terms
 

We may update these Terms at any time. Updated terms sit on our website and take immediate effect.
 

11. Event Photography & Videography
 

We may capture photos or videos at events for marketing and promotional use. Where photography or videography will take place, this will be clearly stated in the event invitation.
 

If you do not wish to appear in any images or footage, please notify us in advance or speak to a team member on the night. We will take reasonable steps to ensure you are not included.
 

If a published photo makes you uncomfortable, please contact us. Where reasonably practicable and without conflicting with our legitimate business interests, we will remove or replace the image.
 

12. Social Media Conduct & Account Rights
 

We reserve the right to block, restrict or remove any individual from our social media accounts at our discretion. This includes behaviour that is abusive, harassing, defamatory, inappropriate, misleading, spam-related or otherwise harmful to our community or brand.
